Survey on the Health and Social Care response to COVID-19

Tue, 09 - March - 2021

We know the COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on core services in Northern Ireland during 2020/21. However, the full picture of this impact is still emerging.

In order to properly assess the impact of Covid-19, the Patient and Client Council is now asking you to tell them how the pandemic has affected your healthcare or social care, and how appropriate and effective you feel the Health and Social Care (HSC) response to COVID-19 has been.

We encourage you to complete the survey and bring the PCC's attention to any gaps in your healthcare and social care to enable them to deliver improvements that may be beneficial beyond the pandemic.

According to The Patient and Client Council the purpose of this survey is to understand:

  • People’s experiences of using HSC services during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • The impact of COVID-19 on people’s routine/ scheduled healthcare and social care
  • Satisfaction levels with restrictions placed on ‘normal’ HSC services due to COVID-19
  • How well people feel they've been informed on how to keep themselves (and the wider population) healthy

The survey aims to evaluate the HSC response to COVID-19 to date, from the perspective of service users. This will allow The PCC and other HSC organisations to:

  • Learn what people think has worked well or not so well
  • Use this learning to adapt better to COVID-19 in future and inform decisions around ‘restarting’ HSC services

After the survey closes later in 2021, response data will be analysed and a report including recommendations will be published online. The report will avoid identifying individuals or their responses.

The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete.
