At MindWise, we're excited to be celebrating Volunteers' Week (June 1st-7th 2021). This year's theme is 'A Time to Say Thanks', so we're taking the opportunity to say thanks to all our wonderful volunteers for their dedication, hard work and creativity, and giving some insight into what it's like to volunteer with MindWise.
It's with our volunteers' support that we've been able to keep doing what we do best throughout the pandemic: supporting our clients to lead fulfilling lives through recovery.
Here is a short video from our Volunteer Manager Elaine Sheridan saying a big thank you to our amazing volunteers and talking about some of the ways in which they've made a difference in 2020-21.
Over the past year, our incredible volunteers rallied around when our clients needed them most, giving a massive 4050 hours to support our services. Watch the video below to find out more about what our volunteers have achieved and the many ways in which they go above and beyond to support our clients.
At MindWise, we offer a wide range of volunteering opportunities to help support those of us who struggle with our mental health across Northern Ireland. We provide all our volunteers with a comprehensive induction and equip them with the necessary training including Safeguarding Adults, First Aid, Mental Health Awareness and Personal Safety.
By equipping our volunteers with these skills and knowledge, we enable them to play an important role in supporting individuals with mental health difficulties to fulfill their potential and creating a society free from stigma.
We currently have 90 volunteers and are looking for more passionate, empathetic and team-spirited volunteers to join us! Whether you're a creative, outdoorsy or tech-savvy individual, there's likely to be an opportunity with MindWise to help you make a difference to others, find a new community of friends and expand your skills. We actively encourage those with lived experience of mental health difficulties to apply.
