Community Opportunities

MindWise Community Opportunities Service within the Southern Health and Social Care Trust provides help and support to those people over 18 who are recovering from mental health issues.

What we do

Our community-based activities provide one to one support, group activities, as well social and practical help. All individuals can develop new skills through structured support and are offered access to a wide range of information, support and advice on issues such as mental health, benefits and employment.

We provide a range of community activities such as:

  • Arts and crafts (such as our Funky Junk workshop, which you can see above)
  • Pool, snooker and walking groups
  • Supporting accessing activities in spaces such as libraries and community groups
  • Days out and visits to local places of interest

We also provide:

  • Help and support in accessing training and education
  • Support in accessing Recovery Colleges
  • Weekly client information sessions in each local area
  • Opportunities to get involved with MindWise through volunteering

We encourage everyone to give something a go if they’re interested!

"MindWise really gave me the opportunity I needed to live my life. They really helped me to cope with my illness, and kept my head together. "
