We are looking for Macmillan Senior Social Work Practitioner Cancer & Mental Health at our Head Office (2 Positions Available)

MACMILLAN SENIOR SOCIAL WORK PRACTITIONER CANCER & MENTAL HEALTH

Location Base:  Blended home and office-based working; based at MindWise’s Head Office with travel throughout NI and occasionally ROI and UK.

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week.

Posts available: 2 x 37.5 hour posts

Salary Range: £43,806 to £47,672 (Macmillan Band 7)          

Starting Salary:  £43,806

Duration: Fixed Term for 3 years.

As a Macmillan funded Professional, employed by MindWise, the post holder will work closely with the Macmillan Regional Social Work Programme Manager (NI) to develop and implement the Cancer and Mental Health Psychosocial Service in N Ireland. The post holder will work closely with GP practice and Health and Social Care Trusts, developing partnerships across cancer and mental health voluntary sector charities, for people with lived experience of cancer and mental health issues, and carer organisations. The post holder will also develop a scoping exercise across the GP practice areas of the volume of people living with cancer and mental health issues; provide line management support and supervision to a small team of Cancer & Mental Health Social Workers, consultation, advice, and guidance, alongside delivering clinical interventions to a number of people living with cancer and mental health issues and their families, who require specialist intensive support. The postholder will also be responsible for leading on the regional training and support programmes and be responsible for the working with the independent evaluation company. 

What we ask for from you:

  • A university degree in Social Work

Or
A professional qualification in Social Work

  • Be fully registered with, or eligible to register with, NISCC as a Social Worker
  • Three years previous experience of managing staff performance to achieve high standards of service delivery.
  • Three years’ experience (in the last 5 years) of working in mental health services, and /or cancer services
  • Experience of leading on quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience of managing stakeholder relationships, both internal and external to the organisation, to achieve successful outcomes for clients.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the issues affecting those with cancer and mental health issues.
  • Ability to demonstrate alignment with the core values of MindWise and Macmillan: Passion, Respect, Empathy, Togetherness, Openness and transparency. With Heart, With Strength, With Ambition.
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criterion will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Organisation which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
  • Secondment Candidates only: This role is open to secondments from other organisations e.g. Trust, Public sector, however you must confirm that you have the approval of your line manager before submitting your application for this post.

Supplementary information
